Christmas this year has had such a huge build up, yet it's gone by so fast! I love the festive season and the day itself was brilliant. We went to see family in Sheffield and ended up seeing my new baby cousin for the first time, aw! I felt so festive and absolutely loved seeing everyone's reactions to the presents they received. And of course, Christmas dinner was delicious! I hope you had a good Christmas.

Christmas Baking.

I was inspired by Chloe's post last week to do some sort of festive baking, so I set some time aside after I completed mocks and decided to make Christmas biscuits. Now they are quite a simple idea, however I think with all the different food at Christmas, it's nice to have something simple mixed in.

For the biscuit you will need:
275g plain flour
100g unsalted softened butter
100g caster sugar
1 lightly beaten egg
1tsp vanilla extract

Method:
1) Cream together the sugar and butter.
2) Add in the egg and the vanilla extract.
3) Fold in the flour slowly until it all comes together as a dough.
4) Roll out the dough into your desired thickness (e.g 2cm)
5) Cut the biscuits into your desired shape and bake for 8-10 minutes.
6) Leave to cool and decorate as you wish!

I think they're perfect for a Christmas buffet and incredibly moreish.

Its a Secret!

I don't think I've ever done Secret Santa before, so it's a first for me this year. I was really excited at the prospect and thought it would be fun to see what quirky gifts we could all find. However so far I've found it really hard to think of a good gift and something the recipient would like/use for such a small amount of money. So I thought I'd report on my top few findings. (They are mainly novelty considering anyone can buy a bath set)

1) Animals That Saw You Naked Book - £6.99
When I saw this on ASOS I thought the idea was hilarious. I like the fact that they've turned the idea on the head that humans don't like it, but instead the fear of it lies with the animals. Genius.

2) Sculpt Your Own Boyfriend Set - £9.95
The principal behind this little set is so fun and the creativity element allows for you to theoretically design your ideal man. There are cute little props included in the set and I think it would be a fun little thing to do with friends to see what different tastes everyone has!

3) Ring For Tea Bell - £2.99
For someone who loves tea, or even hot drinks, a gift like this is so suitable and perfect. I thought something like this would be fab during the early mornings when you don't want to get out of bed, but still need a drink. As long as people know what the bell means, then you're all sorted!

4) The Little Bag Of Christmas - £5
When I saw this online I thought it was so adorable. I think its a nice sentimental little gift and is perfect to highlight the values behind Christmas. The aesthetics of this is also really nice.

5) Creative Therapy Colouring Book - £12.99
This is the least novelty themed one out of them all, but I still think it is a lovely gift to give to someone. I think something like this is a really calming idea and will help the recipient to relax.

What would you give as a secret Santa gift? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Currently Craving

As Christmas is fast approaching, I've been thinking of things to buy for other people but had no idea of what I might like myself. That's not to say I don't have a wishlist as long as my arm, but I've been stuck with what to pick and what I may like as a gift. So after a long think I've come up with  few ideas.

1) Lorac Pro Palette
This is a palette that almost everyone knows of/talks about and has been in my US amazon basket for as long as I can remember. It has a gorgeous combination of shades and looks like it will create many different looks.

2) Hourglass Ambient Trio
After seeing the horrendous value for money that the drool-worthy Ambient Lighting Edit is I looked to the set of three powders instead. They are meant to be incredible and I like the idea of having powders/highlighter hybrids in one.

3)Asos Relish Cut Out Pointed Ankle Boots
For me ankle boots are a useful item to have all year round and these ones are simply gorgeous. The cut out adds a nice bit of detail without making them look cheap. They look like they'd go with anything and are of a good quality.

4) Adidas Stan Smiths
These aren't usually the footwear I would go for however there is something about them that really appeals to me. I think with some outfits they look quite good and I imagine they are good for everyday wear.

5) Zoeva
I bought my mum the Zoeva Rose Gold brushes and I really want my own brushes from there. I like the Classic Face Brush Set, the Bamboo Vol 2 set and the Cocoa Blend Palette.

So there is an insight into my current wishlist, what is on yours? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Bold metals!

Real Techniques are renowned for their brushes and their collections never fail to impress with both variety and quality. They have recently released their Bold Metals collection which isn't a range I had previously tried so I thought buying the collection would be the best way to do so. Inside you get 3 brushes and a little clutch and the design is really chic.

The first brush is the 103 Angled Powder Brush. It is huge and very fluffy so is perfect for applying powder, especially as it's not dense so won't pick up to much product or leave the skin looking heavy. This is an exclusive brush to the collection and not available separately. The second is the 200 Oval Shadow Brush. Many people raved about this product when it first launched as it is perfect for covering the lid with colour in one swoop, but without going overboard. It isn't something I'd use for my crease, but it is perfect for adding colour. The last brush is the 300 tapered blush which is perfect for highlighting and applying blusher. It's domed shape means you can be really precise with the application which is great. The clutch bag is a lovey little edition and keeps the brushes from getting dirty. These brushes are brilliant and such a good set to have in my stash, I'm so happy I got my hands on them!

What's your favourite Real Techniques brush set? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Autumn: The Best Bits

Autumn is well and truly upon us in the UK and the weather is becoming more miserable, but there are some benefits. Autumn is a great season and I thought I'd share my five favourite things:

1) The nights draw in a lot more fast now and although this means I usually don't arrive home until it is dark, it means I have the excuse to go to bed much earlier which is always a bonus.
2) Jumpers. I love wearing jumpers and some days they work so much better than wearing a coat as we've been having quite a mild autumn so wearing jumpers have been enough. Being someone who gets cold very easily, I always layer up and autumn is a great time for that.
3) Enjoying a hot drink. I drink tea all year round, but the selection of hot drinks during a/w is even better than the rest of the year and always gives me a reason to try new tastes.
4) Walking through the leaves is another favourite - I love the crunch they make. The colours are also great and make walking very pleasant(unless it's pouring down)
5) The countdown to Christmas. By this time all the shops are stocked up with their christmas collections which makes me very excited. I love the whole atmosphere and I especially love getting wrapped up to go to all the events that happen during the autumn-christmas period.

What are your autumn favourites? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Halloween!

On Friday (30th Oct) my family and 2 friends went to a Halloween event at a place called White Post Farm. As the name suggests it was based at a farm and all the staff acted and dressed up for the whole evening and there were lots of cool, spooky things to do. But also its just as nice to see all the animals they have!

We went through 2 dark, confined mazes in the evening which were hilarious. There were live actors within the 'corridors' and very realistic moving props which made everyone jump! We were submerged into complete darkness so it was a challenge to find our way around and there was lots of stopping and starting and screaming for that matter. At one point we were greeted my a man with a magic ball trying to guess the unfortunate fate of a member of each group, his attempts were a good laugh.

The main attraction was the Tractor and Trailer ride, which is pretty self explanatory. Our first stop around the farm was a Maleficent sketch with spooky dancers. As we made our way around the land the stops became more scary, (we went to the child friendly night so it wasn't too bad although my friends did jump out of their skin at some points!) with zombies running out of bonfires and humans who'd been chopped in half glued to a wall. One really good stop was a man trying to escape from his capturers only to be chased by someone with a chainsaw who then decided to target us!

The actors and the whole set up made everything very believable and it certainly is good fun irrespective of age! The whole night never fails to impress me and we've been going since it began about 5 years ago.

Have you been to a Halloween themed night?

Boots Haul.

Over the past couple of weeks I've been doing quite a bit of shopping and collecting some bits and bobs for presents for Christmas so I thought I'd show you what I've purchased as there's quite a bit!

I'll start with the basics as I've stocked up on quite a few necessities including Contact lens solution(the boots one is the only one I'll ever buy), toothpaste(who doesn't need this!), hand wash and this one smells amazing!! And finally face wipes for use after cleansing.

I then picked up my favourite after shampoo and condition combination. I love ultimate blends, but the 'marvellous transformer' makes my hair feel so soft and silky.

Now on to the good stuff! I bought two L'oreal mascaras because mascaras seem to run out really fast and I have nothing but good things to say about them. The Bourjois bronzer/highlighter duo was something I bought for my sister, but the reviews about this say it's amazing. I also bought another Garnier Miceller Water which for me is such a good product. It removes my make up so well before I go into cleanse properly and my skin has really been thanking me for it.

I also picked up the No7 skincare collection because I love miniature products and think sets like these are really good for trying new products. I bought the Liz Earle Sparkling Skin Duo which contains products that I know are great and a set like this would be perfect as a Christmas gift. Then I picked up a La Vie Est Belle for my sister(sh!) as she really likes the fragrance and it's my all time favourite too.

Is there anything nice you've bought recently? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Rimmel Do It Again.

R-L Live Pink and Santa Rose
I seem to be having a real love for Rimmel London's products at the minute. The quality is amazing for the price and their products are really rivaling some of my favourite high end products. I spotted their Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush and thought they would be a nice alternative in my collection as I only really have high end blushes.

I picked up two colours: Live Pink and Santa Rose. Live pink, as the name suggests is a vibrant coral with a gold shimmer running throughout and Santa Rose is more of a muted peach which is much lighter in comparison to the other. It doesn't like much in the pan, but on the cheeks it's stunning.
Santa Rose is perfect for any occasion, as is Live Pink, although I think Live Pink will be making more of an appearance at nighttime towards Christmas - especially with the slightly golden shimmer running through. They're both really wearable shades, however Santa Rose is probably more so considering it appears as just a hint of colour unless built up a fair bit. The pigmentation of them is just right, they don't make my cheeks appear like clowns cheeks, yet they are subtle enough that you can still notice them. Santa Rose is a shade that complements any look and I think it goes with anything, whereas Live Pink is probably something that isn't as versatile, yet they both are brilliant every day colours.

The wear time on them is great, although after a very long day the colour is probably gone, but I can't complain as they give a decent 7 hour wear without going patchy or just disappearing. The formula of both are great and I highly recommend these products, I can't wait to add more to my collection!

What do you think of them? What other drugstore blushes should I add to my collection?
I hope you enjoyed reading,

Bingo!

The other week at work we played a game of bingo throughout the day and whoever had completed all the tasks on the bingo sheet won a prize. Me being me took it upon myself to win the game and so I did. In return I was given a lovely little goody bag so I thought I'd share with you the contents:

1) Revlon ColourStay Eyeshadow Quad - Adventurous
I've never bought eyeshadows from Revlon before however this little palette didn't disappoint. It contains a nice mix of neutrals with one that is slightly green which I thought would be nice to experiment with.
2) No7 Skin Illuminator Radiance Boosting Beauty Fluid
This product is basically radiance in a bottle. It has a thin consistency and a lovely sheen to it so doesn't heavy on the skin, but creates a wonderful glow. It can be used as a highlighter or underneath foundation, both of which look amazing,
3) No7 Stay Perfect Eyeshadow - Violet Shine
To me this colour screams Christmas and it definitely something I will be using when that time rolls around. It is a rich purple with lots of fleks of glitter in it which makes it so pretty! No7 formula's are very good and this eyeshadow keeps in line! It's quite a vibrant colour which would be very complementary for a party attire.
4) No7 Moisture Drench - Caramel Silk
Within the goody bag was a voucher to get a free lipstick from No7 up to the value of £10 which I thought was a nice little prize. When I was looking at the lipsticks, the majority steer towards the reds/plums, but I was looking for a nice nude. They have recently launched three new nude shades so I was excited to see what they were like. I chose caramel silk in the end which is a gorgeous 'my lips but better' with a slightly mauve/brown undertone. It is very creamy and hydrating, but lasts a good few hours on me. I love it.
5) No7 Intense Volume Mascara
I am never loyal with mascara and absolutely love trying different ones all the time so was a very happy girl when I discovered this in my goody bag. As the name suggests it does create voluminous lashes without being clumpy or flaky. It separates out each individual lash and lengthens them whilst giving them a slightly dramatic look. This mascara has become my go-to recently. It's great.

I thought my selection of little gifts was rather good. What would you put in a goody bag?

Lush masks are lush.

Face masks aren't something I've ever been overly interested in due to the fact I've never seen amazing results. However when I was recently in Lush, I was intrigued by the 'cupcake' mask which promises to absorb excess oil and calm the skin. Now being someone with dry skin, I thought this wouldn't be the product for me, but after having a few sporadic breakouts recently, I thought I'd give it a go.

The list of beneficial ingredients is endless, with them ranging from helping to draw out any impurities in the skin to toning and stimulating the skin too.

Upon first use I noticed my skin was slightly less red in area where I've had breakouts and my t-zone was less oily (it's not that oily anyway, but there were results). The mask wasn't stripping or harsh and didn't make my skin any more dry than it is anyway. Any blemishes on my skin seemed to have calmed down slightly and within a couple of days they were gone.  However to notice any real, long term differences in the skin, this is a mask which should be used at least twice a week! Also, despite it looking quite thick, it isn't heavy once applied and provides a really nice gentle cleanse. Oh and it smells like chocolate too, bonus!

Although the product is aimed towards those with more oily skin, it is suited to anyone who want a deep, but gentle cleanse. It is a really effective product.

What do you think of lush masks? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Autumnal Nails.

A fresh set of painted nails is something I really love and I find when I have the time to sit and paint my nails properly, it's really relaxing. As the weather has begun to drop in the UK, you can definitely tell that Autumn is here. There are some really nice autumnal nail polishes around, even though I hardly pick my choice of  nail colour based on the season, so I thought I'd share my top 4 favourites.

Rimmel London Black Cherries. As the name suggests, this is a deep plum/purple colour. For me this colour screens autumn/winter because of the richness in tones. It's different to the usual burgundies, but still looks really good on the nails.

Rimmel London Style Hunter. In the bottle this colour doesn't look very special, however on the nails it is gorgeous. It's a brown/slightly pink/slightly purple/mauve shade which fits in very nicely with the autumnal colours. The colour compliments any outfit really well too.

Barry M - The collections Barry M come out with never fail to impress me. They have some brilliant autumn shades - the burgundy is what I would call your average autumnal burgundy. It's fairly dark, but without being very muted. The green on the other hand is something I wouldn't ever have thought I would like, but it's such a toned down rich green that makes me think of cosy nights and Christmas!

All of these four polishes last really well and they apply well too. I know that these four polishes are going to be used in rotation all autumn. I would always look to these two brands when picking another shade for my autumn collection as they have some really great shades in their ranges!

What are your favourite autumn colours? I hope you enjoyed reading, Holly x

Rimmel London

Rimmel London is one of my favourite drugstore brands and I find the quality of the products amazing for the price. Recently I repurchased a foundation I used to use years ago. After receiving a sample of it and really enjoying it, I thought I might as well see if the full size lived up to how I remembered it. This foundation is even better than how I thought it was and on my first application I did question whether they had reformulated it.

As soon as I apply it, any blemishes I have seem to disappear and and redness is neutralised out. Having said that, it isn't cakey or heavy at all. It leaves my skin looking almost flawless and I really like the finish it leaves. It isn't matte, but it isn't overly dewy either, it leaves a healthy sheen to the skin.

Another bonus with this product is the wear time is great. It lasts on my skin for a good eight hours and still provides a decent medium coverage, however if it's on any longer than 11 hours then you can see where extra coverage is needed. Considering the price, I think that is pretty decent!

There are many hydrating properties within this foundation and therefore it doesn't dry my skin out or cling to dry patches which is a must for me. The spf20 is a nice extra bonus also!

I'm very happy I've added this foundation to my collection and its lived up to my expectations of how good rimmel foundations are! Have you used rimmel foundations before? What do you think of them?

Bobbi Brown Corrector

A couple of weeks ago, I was gifted with the Bobbi Brown Corrector. It is a peach or pink toned product which is meant to cancel out any dark colours under the eye. I think products like this are great as sometimes concealer doesn't always conceal discolouration the way you would like.

The corrector has quite a thick consistency and need warming up in a finger before being applied. It blends really easily after this and I find it really brightens up the eyes as well as covering dark circles. On me it isn't drying at all nor does it cling to dry patches. It has some hydrating properties. I use the shade light to medium bisque which is a fairly dark peach, however the shade range is huge.

This product has made a difference in the way my makeup looks, but it is probably something I'd use when I've had all the hours of sleep in the world, as opposed to erase paste which is really heavy duty stuff!

What do you think of all the corrector products? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Flowers

The end of summer is getting closer by the minute and the autumn weather has already started to settle, however we are still getting a few days of nice sunshine here and there and so I've been clinging to every little ray. Throughout this summer I've noticed I've had a bit of a thing for floral printed dresses. Now generally, I don't obsess over looking like wallpaper, however the three pieces I've been loving don't make me resemble wallpaper at all.

The first one is something that would be appropriate all year round because of the black base and it is something I will continue to wear up until my legs can't stand the cold anymore. It is a basic shift type dress which just hangs on the body. Sometimes this can look really unflattering, however I like the way it fits on me as it is a really good size so doesn't resemble a bag. Also, there is a hole in the back with two straps that cross over which I think adds the perfect amount of detail on top of the vibrant flowers.

The second is one I fell head over heels for when I spotted it in Topshop. I love the cream/yellow colour and the flowers are all so detailed and have a really intricate look to them all whilst adding a pop of colour. It is actually a playsuit which I prefer with this style of clothing because the material at the front crosses over from the waist down leaving a big 'v' down the middle of the chest if the bow at the back isn't tight enough. Therefore if it was a dress I think I'd be worried all the time about exposing myself in one way or another.

The third one is the most girly and vibrant, but I think it's stunning. I plan on wearing this to a wedding later in the year. It has a slight metallic finish to it and the blue flowers tone the vibrancy down a tad. I really like the halter neck and on me it comes to just above the knees so it still classes as appropriate wedding attire. Even though my sole intention was to wear it to a wedding I have worn it out on numerous occasions whilst we've still had the sun and never once has it looked over the top.

I'm going to be wearing these until all the sun disappears. What do you think of floral pieces?

Blame It On NARS

Each time NARS bring out a new collection I always swoon over all of the beautiful products and this summer was no different. They brought out three summer gifting kits including cheek palette which had my name written all over. So when I was in Selfridges the other day, I picked it up and I love it. Having already got one of their cheek palettes, I knew I wasn't going to be disappointed with the formulation.

There are four shades: a slightly peach toned highlighter, casino bronzer (thankfully they didn't include Laguna in this one) and two pink blushers. It includes a mini ita brush also. The brush is amazing and I can definitely see why everyone loves it.

The packaging of this palette is so fun and vibrant and much better than some of the standard packaging other brands have. It is perfect for travelling as it contains anything you could want for colour on your face and isn't too bulky to be carrying around daily.

I think NARS always do it right with their limited edition launches and I will always be a sucker for their cheek palettes. Have you tried any?

Summer Blues

The end of summer is drawing closer so I've been trying to cling onto each moment. One way of doing this has been painting my nails in vibrant pastel colours and I love it.

The Rimmel Bestival Blue has been on my nails for the past week or two and has requires minimal touch ups. I find Rimmel nail polishes are really good and have a brilliant formula. This polish in particular would have looked fine with just one coat and was opaque enough without the second coat. It has been very long wearing and has a very shiny finish.

The colour itself is a vibrant pastel blue, but it isn't too in your face. It adds a pop of colour to anything, without clashing. I love it and can imagine I'll be wearing it until the end of summer.

Are there any nail polishes you love at the minute? I hope you enjoyed reading,

The best perfume ever.

La vie est belle is my favourite fragrance of all time. I've tried and tested a lot of perfumes over the years and nothing compares. First of all, it has very chic packaging and to me, it just screams class. Secondly, it is perfect for summer, although I do wear it all year round. It is slightly sweet, but fruity too. It contains jasmine, vanilla and orange blossom just to name a few and the combination of all the 'ingredients' means there's a balance of floral and fruity, but by no means is it sickly.

It is one of those fragrances which are extremely easy to wear and I feel like it is never overpowering. A little goes a long way with this perfume and it I can still smell it on myself at the end of the day. I really do love this perfume and I'm interested to see if any other of Lancomes perfumes come close.

What perfume is your favourite? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Top 3 oils.

As someone who loves hydration and that extra bit of silkiness and glossiness, I love using oils. Instead of everything being targeted towards the face, the market has expanded so that there are oils out there for everything: face, body, hair, nails, etc. In today's post, I want to talk about my favourite three.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex
Now this one is more of a serum (but shh), it is something I use when my skin is feeling really lacklustre and dull. I apply it at nighttime and in the morning, I have a radiant glow. It is meant to help reduce the signs of ageing, however I don't quite have wrinkles yet so I can't comment on that aspect. It is one of those where a little goes a long way (thankfully or else I don't think my mum would be very impressed!) and it just sinks into the skin without leaving a greasy film.

Caudalie Divine Oil
I've mentioned this product before, but I really do love it. I've not had it long, but already I feel it's making a difference. I apply this to the tips of my hair and to my skin when I'm having no makeup days and it leaves my skin feeling nourished and hydrating as well as leaving a subtle sheen to the skin. It is extremely moisturising so is perfect to apply after having a shower and it leaves me with silky soft limbs!

Ogx Moroccan Argan Oil
My hair feels incredible after using this! I can't believe I haven't tried it sooner. My hair is very shiny, soft and much easier to brush because of this. Plus it smells incredible. It doesn't leave my hair greasy at all and similarly to the others, a little goes a long way. I can definitely tell that after prolonged use of this my hair will be in great condition.

So there are my top 3 oils, I think they're great and a staple in my routine. What do you think of them? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Mini Haul

I have done a little bit of shopping over the last week or two - having time on my hands means internet shopping is a very attractive idea.

Firstly I picked up the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer. I've been wanting this for a while and it certainly lives up to all the good reviews. It has a thin consistency, but has medium-full coverage as well as being brightening. It works well on both dark circles and blemishes and it's all I've been using at the minute.

The next thing that caught my attention was the REN Express Make Up Remover. I've used REN before so I know that it works really well for my skin. Again, it's a fairly thin consistency, but just makes the make up melt off my face instantaneously. It works really well for both am and pm.

Sticking on the theme of skincare, I bought a small Vichy moisturiser - Aqualia Thermal Light Hydration. This stuff is extremely hydrating and I love that. My skin has been getting dryer over the last 5 years and this has really helped. It sinks straight into my face and doesn't leave my skin feeling greasy or like there is product sitting on top of it.

The last thing I picked up was the Caudalie Divine Oil. This stuff is so good! You can use it on your face, body or hair which makes it a really versatile product. It is a very light formula yet intensely nourishing and hydrating and leaves me with a very glowing complexion or soft, silky hair (in a non greasy way) as it's enriched with argan oil. It's made with a lot of natural products which adds to its nourishing and strengthening properties!

I received a sample of the Benefit High Beam. It is a pink luminescent highligher which gives an amazing glow without looking too much. I can definitely see myself picking up the full size in the future.

Have you picked up anything recently? I hope you enjoyed reading,

Splendour Festival.

Last Saturday (18th July), myself and a couple of friends went to the Splendour Festival in my home town and this year was my fourth year of going. The weather for the day looked extremely promising, unlike last year when it rained all year. It got really nice and warm throughout the day and I managed to come home with a tan!

Chloe had managed to get us a really decent spot, fairly close to the main stage and we arrived so we could see the second act. I enjoyed most of the acts, especially Lawson who were amazing and it was good to just sit and enjoy the music. We ate all day and were spotting the best dancers throughout the park.

I love going as it's a great day spent with great company and full of laughs: will definitely be returning next year. There is such a good atmosphere among everyone and it caters for everyone.

Favourite Instagram Accounts

I am regularly found scrolling through Instagram and it is one of my most used apps. There is something about it which is very addictive. There are a some accounts that I will always love to look at, a few which include beauty bloggers, however I thought I'd share my 3 favourite accounts who aren't as famous as the likes of Zoella.

@stefaniejwatson

Her photos are incredible and make me extremely envious of her life. If by the time I'm her age and have achieved what she has, I know I will have done well. Plus she's beautiful!

@grgctts

I've been obsessed with Georgia's instagram for a very long time because her make up skills are impeccable! I don't think I've seen make up as flawless and her cat is adorable!

@londonfitnessguide

I admire this lady's dedication and commitment to work hard and make the most out of life. The food she cooks looks incredibly delicious and healthy and she seems to be always on the go doing some sort of exercise and loving every minute.

Beauty Haul

Over the last couple of weeks I've been doing a bit of shopping and managed to finally get round to purchasing things that I've wanted for a long time.

The first thing I picked up was the Urban Decay Naked Palette. I have wanted this palette for such a long time and was so happy when it arrived. The colours are gorgeous and I will get use out of every single one. The formulation is amazing as is the longevity of the shadows! My favourite so far is 'sin' and I can envisage myself picking up the single of it because I love it so much. I also like 'sidecar', 'smog', 'hustle' and 'toasted', but as I get more use out of the palette I'm sure I'll love them all equally. The shades are so versatile and it's so easy to create a wide array of looks from them. I can definitely see why this is a huge favourite amongst bloggers!

The next thing I picked up was Mac Mineralise Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. After hearing Chloe and everyone rave about this, I decided to pick it up and try for myself as I wanted a new highlighter. It is so pigmented, but not overly glittery - it leaves a lovely sheen. It can be applied sparingly for a nice healthy glow or built up to give a real intense highlight, which makes it perfect for day and night.

Have you picked up anything you've been wanting for a long time lately?

Prom: The Event

Like I mentioned in my previous post, Friday 19th June was my school's prom. It was an amazing night, but of course, one which couldn't have started without malfunctions. My best friend and boyfriend both managed to get marks on their attires, so the evening began with a slight panic. Once resolved, me and my bestfriend made our way to Eastwood in a very swish Jaguar. We were one of the last to arrive and everyone was waiting looking very smart and lovely. The food was lovely, the photo booth was great fun and the dancing was hilarious! Also, it was good to socialise with the teachers that have really helped me over the last five years. It was a really nice way to finish my time at secondary school and it's a night I will never forget. The people who went made the night so magical. It was the perfect way to relax and no longer have to do any exams and revise! I could talk about the night for a very long time, but sometimes writing it down doesn't always justify how truly special the event was.
